Getting Ready to Cruise

Jay and I leave tomorrow for a 5 night cruise to the Caribbean! We are so excited!! We will make stops in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and George Town, Grand Cayman. We have never cruised before, so we are really ready to go. I am a little anxious about motion sickness because I have the tendency to get car sick, but have taken others' advice on what to do just in case. We will be home on Thursday and will have lots of pictures and stories to share!

Ice Skating

Ice skating with Elle was SO much fun!! I can't wait to go back. We left the Dads and younger siblings to watch football while my girlfriends and I took the older kids skating. We had to swap our flip-flops and T-shirts for coats and gloves on our way in to the rink because it was an 80 degrees here yesterday but FREEZING inside! They have these things called "walkers" that the kids can use to help them learn to skate. I don't remember these as a child, but they were wonderful! Elle had plenty of falls, but overall did great. She quickly told me that she didn't need my help and was off to conquer the ice on her own. Even when she fell, she was up on her own in no time. They had a great time and I got some cute pictures.

Pajama Party

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. There really just hasn't been much going on worth sharing with you all this week. If you would like a play-by-play of Brooks' potty training just let me know! Otherwise, not too much excitement around here. School is back in full swing for me. I will finish the academic portion of my Master's program this May. I will then complete two externships before graduating in Decemeber. But May is an exciting milestone for me because it means no more tests, papers, projects, etc. that are weighing us down at home!!

Elle had her first Pajama Party last night with her good friends Emma and Madeline. Well, it wasn't an official overnight party, but the girls had fun. I dropped her off to play for a few hours, then came back later in the evening to hang with the Moms while the girls had fun. They had pizza, movies, barbies...the works. By the time we left they were all about to pass out! Maybe next time we'll try sleeping over. Not sure if they're ready for that quite yet.

I'll try to get some more pictures up soon. Tonight we're going to dinner with friends and taking the older kids ice skating. Hopefully I'll get some cute pictures there.

Mystery Boo-Boo

Brooks is no stranger to scrapes and bruises, but they are usually accompanied by a logical explanation. This new wound, however, is a mystery to everyone. There was no crying, and no witnesses. Brooks acted as if he didn't even know it was there when we asked what happened. Guess we'll never know!

Tennessee Christmas

We had a great trip to Tennessee for Christmas. The kids got spoiled as always and we all enjoyed the time with family and friends. Unfortunately the trip flew by and we didn't take as many pictures as we would have liked. Here are a few highlights of the trip, but these in no way cover everyone or everything that we did. We had two deliscious Christmas dinners compliments of MeMaw and Arlene. We also got to have lunch with our good friend Lindsey Harman and her son Jack as well as see many of Jay's old friends. We also got to spend some much needed time with Aunt Claire (Jay's sister) and Uncle Brian who are expecting Elle and Brooks' cousin in June!
